Clean and High Efficient Cooling in Morocco

UN Environment, and its partners, the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea Protection, the Copenhagen Centre for Energy Efficiency, the University Politecnico di Milano, and the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency, are orgnaising the workshop “Clean and High Efficient Cooling in Morocco” which will take place in Marrakech on January 29-30.

This is the third workshop organised in Marrakech under the framework of implementation of the District Energy in Cities Initiative in Morocco. The workshop will consist of two sessions, a high level political session hold on January 29 and a training session hold on January 30. The first session will aim at disseminating the final results of the pre-feasibility analysis of a potential district cooling system performed in the area of Hivernage and discussing with local authorities and representatives from local utilities and private sector, on the need, opportunities and next steps required to accelerate clean and high efficient cooling in Morocco. The second day will be a training session for local engineers, urban planners, technical officers from the local and national government, and local university researchers, on how to identify, design, and bring to market a district cooling project.

The workshop will be hosted by the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency, Rue Machaar, Haram, Issil, Marrakech – Maroc.
