Accelerating Investment in District Energy- Launch of the GEF Project in China
UN Environment, the National Development and Reform Commission, People's Republic of China, and the Chinese Energy and Environmental Protection Group hosted last September 15 the launch of the GEF Project in China – Accelerating Investment in District Energy-.
Several local and international partners attended this event including GIZ, World Resource Institutes, Danish Energy Agency, International Energy Agency, Danfoss, Engie, Broad Energy Group and other Chinese utilities and technology providers. Senior local, provincial and national government representatives were also present.
The DES Initiative met with the National Development and Reform Commission, People's Republic of China and the Chinese Energy and Environmental Protection Group to establish the work plan for 2018, following our recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Group to promote energy efficiency in cities through district energy and integrated planning, and to support South-South transfer through the International Coalition for Green Development on the Green Belt and Road.
